DELTA Wellness ChallengeThe Distance Swim Challenge is thrilled to announce the debut of the DELTA Wellness Challenge at this year's Distance Swim Challenge. The DELTA Wellness Challenge encourages companies to impact the health of their employees through participation in fitness events across the country such as running, cycling, swimming and others. Employees are encouraged to form teams in which an employer can choose from a variety of incentives in order to motivate and encourage employees to participate in events. Here's how it works:RECRUITCompanies who want to participate begin recruiting employees during an internal kick off event by announcing the challenge and team leaders are chosen.ASSEMBLETeams of 4 are assembled and train together throughout the weeks leading up to the competition.TESTPrior to the start of any training, employees will be assessed using our revolutionary HEART mobile app, which provides an individual's base score highlighting risk factors for cardiovascular disease.TRAINCertified OptimisSport Physical Therapists and fitness trainers provide employees with individualized training plans leading up to the event and monitor their progress throughout their journey. Training plans are customized based on an individual employees HEART score but also considers team and group training opportunities.RETESTTeams will be re-tested using HEART just prior to the company's chosen event and their new score will be compared with their original score.COMPETE & COMPLETETeams compete in the company chosen fitness event and are scored based on participation and reductions in risk factors for cardiovascular disease. Teams who display the most improvement will be rewarded as the winner. All team members are required to complete their fitness event to be considered in the scoring and awards.
