Lifeguard Checkout Swims

If you cannot attend a qualifying swim, we are offering a lifeguard checkout swim on July 14th to qualify you for the event.

The lifeguard checkout swim will qualify you for the following:

• 2.4-mile swim
• 4.8-mile swim
• 10k swim
• 12.6-mile swim

The time and location of your start is dependent upon your distance, however all swimmers will finish just south of the Santa Monica Pier. The chart below outlines the start location and approximate times for each distance. Specific start times will be determined based on the speed of the 12.6-mile swimmers.

12.6-mile swimmers: A kayak escort is highly recommended for the checkout swim, however it is not required.

July 14, 2012	Check in Time: 9:15am Start Time: ~ 9:30am Finish: just south of the Santa Monica Pier Total distance: ~1-mile

4.8-mile & 10k Checkout Swim	Venice Beach Pier
July 14, 2012	Check in Time: at 8:45 am Start Time: ~ 9:00am Finish just south of the Santa Monica Pier Total distance: ~3 miles

12.6-mile Checkout Swim	South Side of the Santa Monica Pier - near the lifeguard station
July 14, 2012	Check in at 7:30 am Start time: ~7:45am Round trip to the Venice Pier and back Total distance: ~6 miles
